24-Hour HAZMAT Operations Course
Description:
This course meets and exceeds the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1072 Hazardous Materials / WMD Emergency Response Personnel Professional Qualifications Chapter 5, “Operations” and Chapter 6.2, “Personal Protective Equipment,” and OSHA 1910.120 (q)(6)(ii) standards for Operations level personnel. To meet requirements set by OSHA and NFPA for individuals who respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances as part of the initial response to the site for protecting nearby persons, property, or the environment from the effects of the release.
Objectives:
“Personal Protective Equipment,” and OSHA 1910.120 (q)(6)(ii) standards for Operations level personnel.
Format:

- Students will participate in interactive lectures and hands-on exercises involving:
- OSHA REGULATIONS
- RECOGNITION & IDENTIFICATION
- MONITORING HAZARDS
- WEAPONS of MASS DESTRUCTION AWARENESS
- NON-BULK & BULK PACKAGING
- PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
- SITE-SPECIFIC HAZARDS
- DECONTAMINATION
- EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLANS
- INCIDENT COMMAND
