Full job description
Foster Safety LLC is seeking a personable, well rounded, Industrial Safety Professional, adept in project-based engagements across diverse sectors such as New Construction, Pipeline, Petro-Chemical, Refinery, and familiar with site safety inspection, and work permit systems and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel are essential.
Minimum Requirements:
To qualify, candidates must possess:
- OSHA 30 in Construction certification
- Minimum of 10 years of professional safety experience as a Safety Professional
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications
- Eligibility to work in the US, successful completion of a background check, and passing a drug test
- Physical stamina for regular standing or travel
- Ability to Commute
Job Duties
- Provide and promote health and safety expertise and practices.
- Lead, improve, and enforce compliance for all health and safety requirements, programs, policies, and procedures (company, federal, state, regional, and local)
- Identify and assist in the correction of non-compliant/at risk safety issues.
- Facilitate annual OSHA required safety training to field industrial employees.
- Complete safety orientation and on-boarding requirements for new hire employees.
- Provide periodic after-hours safety support in an on-call safety role.
- Apply knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations as they relate to General Industry Standards.
- Conduct safety meetings, toolbox meetings when necessary.
- Implement the job hazard analysis process to identify, control, and eliminate workplace hazards.
- Help conduct and coordinate onsite safety inspections to identify and correct hazardous conditions of work sites.
- Provide safety support to industrial field services group performing work tasks on client job sites.
- Analyze work practices to identify to mitigate and eliminate hazards/risk.
- Assist in root cause analysis to investigate all injuries /accidents and nears misses.
- Review project scope of work plans to ensure all safety measures have been taken to mitigate and eliminate hazards/risk.
Primary Requirements
- OSHA standards as they apply to 29 CFR 1910 General Industry and 29 CFR 1926 OSHA Construction Industry Regulations
- Incident investigation, analysis, and corrective action implementation.
- Organizational skills and the ability to execute within established deadlines.
- Written and verbal communication skills; and
- Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
- Preferred Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field. In lieu of degree (1-3 years) work experience in the safety field coupled with relevant professional certifications.
- One to three years’ experience in the Health & Safety field with preferred experience in maritime & industrial operations.
- General knowledge of applicable OSHA, state, and local rules and regulations for the areas in which we operate.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment drug & alcohol screen, pre-employment physical examination, and background check upon receiving an offer of employment.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and driving history satisfactory with Foster Safety LLC standards, and its insurer.
- Ability to travel to satisfy the requirements of the position
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28 – $48 per hour
